Ready to see what’s inside? Here’s a detailed breakdown of what you’ll be learning.
Hatha Yoga is one of the oldest and most traditional forms of yoga, practiced in India for centuries. It is rooted in the idea of bringing balance between the body and mind through purposeful movement and breath awareness. This style focuses on physical postures (asanas) that build strength, flexibility, and inner stability.
As part of our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course at Rishikesh Yogkulam, students engage in daily 1-hour Hatha Yoga sessions. These classes are designed to guide you through a variety of foundational poses and carefully sequenced flows that enhance your body’s mobility, strength, and alignment—while prioritizing safety at every step.
Our Hatha Yoga practice blends both dynamic movements and static holds, helping students increase endurance, deepen their connection with the body, and gain a clearer sense of physical and mental balance.
Below is the complete list of Hatha Yoga postures you’ll explore during the course.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic and disciplined style of yoga developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in the 20th century. Deeply rooted in ancient yogic philosophy, this method combines breath (pranayama) with movement (vinyasa) through a fixed sequence of postures, creating a powerful and meditative flow.
As part of our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course at Rishikesh Yogkulam, students practice Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga for 1.5 hours daily. These sessions are both energizing and intense, offering a full-body workout that builds physical strength, flexibility, and mental focus.
In our training, we specifically focus on the Primary Series—a foundational sequence designed to detoxify the body, align the nervous system, and develop internal awareness.
Below is a detailed breakdown of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series you'll explore during the course.
Pranayama is the ancient yogic science of breath control, drawn from the Sanskrit words ‘Prana’ (life force) and ‘Ayama’ (expansion or control). As described in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, “Pranayama is the practice of controlling the breath to regulate the mind and body, leading to higher states of awareness.”
At Rishikesh Yogkulam, Pranayama is a core part of our 200 Hour YTTC in Rishikesh. Each day, students participate in a 1-hour guided Pranayama session, where they explore time-tested breathing techniques designed to:

At its core, yoga philosophy invites you to explore the deeper purpose behind the practice, offering guidance toward self-awareness, inner discipline, and lasting peace. At Rishikesh Yogkulam, students in our Yoga Teacher Training Course in Rishikesh practice Shatkarma once a week under expert guidance. Shatkarma is an ancient yogic cleansing practice designed to purify the body and prepare it for deeper practices like Pranayama and meditation. The word Shatkarma comes from Sanskrit—‘Shat’ means six, and ‘Karma’ means actions—referring to six powerful techniques that help detoxify the internal system, remove energy blockages, and support overall health and balance.
At Rishikesh Yogkulam, students in our 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh practice Shatkarma once a week under expert guidance. These sessions help clear the nasal passages, improve breathing capacity, and support mental clarity—laying the foundation for more advanced yogic practices.
